Housekeeping…

This is an informational post related to the blog and not the Journey.

I have been able to upload the videos and pictures that I have been heretofore unable to upload, and I have marked all the posts that I have adjusted with a asterisked note at the beginning.

As you can imagine, the internet connectivity here is not what it is like in the US.  The speed is significantly slower than what I’m accustomed to and tends to drop out in mid-upload, which means I have to start all over.  The slower speed overall means that it takes longer to upload in the first place, and more of an opportunity for the thing to hiccup and start me back at square one.

Somehow, I got everything uploaded I needed to, so as of today (May 11, 2012), everything is caught up.

I have so many pictures and videos I’d like to post, but I cannot post them all, so I’ve chosen the best representatives from each segment of the Journey to hopefully give you the overall “feel” of what I am experiencing here in India.  I’ve picked the best of what I have, and have posted some pics that are a bit out of focus, because it was the best that I had of that scene, and I wanted to have it as an illustration of what I was experiencing.  The videos can be shaky too, it’s the best I’ve got with no tripod and often moving.

Clicking on the pictures will open them larger, but still much smaller than the original (I can’t upload the originals, they’re 16 megapixel images).  They may open larger than your screen, so you might have to use your scroll bars to see the whole thing; use your browser button to get back to the page you were on if they don’t open on a new page.  Videos I have tried to resize, so you can watch them right on the page, but feel free to use the “Fullscreen” button at the bottom right of the video window to maximize the clip for full effect.

I have put a few notes about each video as a comment, which you can see by clicking on the double-downward facing arrows that say “More Info” (at the top right of the video window).  You can click the double-upward facing arrows to get back to the video.  Hope that all makes sense.

Reminder that I am not checking any email except the one listed in the blog post called Contact Info, so if you’d like to send me a note, do so at the address you see in the pic below.  I will respond as I’m able, which may not be for a few days (the same goes for comments on the blog itself).
